Terms

These are the terms for using ESATvault. By using the site or creating an account you agree to them. They are written in plain language and are not legal advice. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who runs the site

ESATvault is run by one individual, not a company, and there is no team behind it. In these terms "I" and "me" mean that person, and "the site" means ESATvault. You can contact me through the contact page.

What the site is

ESATvault is a free, independent practice site for the Engineering and Science Admissions Test (ESAT). It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to UAT UK, Pearson VUE, or any university or organisation that sets, runs, delivers or uses the ESAT. Their names are used only to say what the site is for. The questions are original. The site does not host official past papers or reproduce real exam questions. The simulator imitates the look of the test-centre screen so you can rehearse, but it is not the real test.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, please check with a parent or carer if you are unsure about creating an account. You must give a real email address that you can receive email at, and you must not create an account for someone else or pretend to be someone you are not.

Your account

Using the site fairly

Please do not:

If you break these terms, I may warn you, restrict your access, or close your account, without notice where the problem is serious.

Accuracy and what the site is not

Questions and solutions are checked, but mistakes can happen. If you find one, please tell me or use the feedback option on the question. Scores, scaled marks, time estimates, suggestions and statistics are only a guide to your practice. They are not a prediction of your result in the real test, and the site makes no promise about any exam result or admissions outcome. The questions may be easier or harder than the real exam. The site is not careers, admissions or educational advice. Always check the official ESAT and university information for dates, rules, the specification and requirements.

Things you send me

You keep ownership of anything you send me, such as contact messages and question feedback. By sending it, you allow me to use it to run, fix and improve the site, for example to correct a question. I will not publish your name or message without asking you first.

Content on the site

The questions, solutions, text, design and code of the site are my work, or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright. You may use them for your own study. Please do not copy, republish, sell or share them in bulk, or use them to build a competing product, without asking me first. The site uses open-source software, which stays under its own licences.

Availability and changes

The site is provided free, by one person, in my own time. It may be unavailable, slow or have errors, and I do not promise it will always be there, or stay free. I may change, pause or remove features or content, or close the site, at any time. If I close the site, I will try to give notice where I reasonably can.

No warranty and limits on responsibility

The site is provided as it is and as available, without any promise that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose. Because the service is free, to the fullest extent the law allows, I am not responsible for any loss arising from using it or not being able to use it, including loss of data, progress or results, or any exam or admissions outcome.

Nothing in these terms limits anything that cannot be limited by law. This includes responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and any legal rights you have as a consumer.

Links to other sites

The site may link to other websites, such as the official ESAT pages. I do not control them and am not responsible for them. Contact me if you own any of these sites and would like them removed.

Your data

How your personal data is handled is described in the privacy page, which is part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. If a change matters, the date below will change, and I will say so on the site where I reasonably can. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.

Law

These terms, and any dispute about them or the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you keep any rights you have to use your local courts.
